Alton Memorial Hospital's Women's & Infants unit restarted in-person classes in late March, and can now accommodate up to 20 people per class, including the instructor. BJC has revised its policy about in-person gatherings to allow up to 20 people for indoor events. As a result, the classes are also moving to the Hatch meeting rooms in the hospital's Hatch Wing. Terrea Harper, a peer recovery specialist in the Warm Hand Off program of AMH's Center for Behavioral and Addiction Medicine unit, was just doing her job Oct. 27, 2020, as she helped a patient in the Emergency Room. But those few hours together impacted Shamyria Wingate so much that she named her baby after Terrea when she was born in January 2021.
