A town hall meeting about the opioid crisis will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Alton Memorial Hospital cafeteria meeting rooms. The public is welcome to attend this free meeting.

‘Babysitting 101’ Class on March 10

A "Babysitting 101" class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Alton Memorial Hospital. Location is the cafeteria meeting rooms. The cost is $30 per child. 

Daffodil Sales Help in Fight Against Cancer

Alton Memorial Hospital will sell daffodils again this spring. It was Wednesday, June 21, and Marty Pilcic had just finished washing the dinner dishes. He felt a little woozy, so he sat down and called for his wife Jeannie to bring him an aspirin. “Something’s not right,” he said. Since Jeannie knew her husband was not a complainer, his asking for an aspirin triggered her decision to call 911. Right about then, Marty passed out.

Prostate Cancer a Call to Action for Jersey County Man

As a retired police officer, Ron Henerfouth is a man of action. So a prostate cancer diagnosis in 2016 was no reason to sit and feel sorry for himself. Henerfouth got busy with his doctor at Alton Memorial Hospital, and soon the case was closed.

Dr. Angela Holbrook Wins Chairman's Award
Dr. Angela Holbrook is the winner of the 2017 Alton Memorial Hospital Chairman’s Award. Dr. Holbrook, chief of Emergency Medicine at AMH, was honored at the annual Physician’s Appreciation Dinner, held Oct. 13 in the Caramel Room of Bissinger’s in downtown St. Louis.
