Visiting Hours

During labor and delivery, 3 visitors can be at the patient’s bedside, 24/7. After baby is born, 4 visitors are allowed at the bedside, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m..

Directions

  • From the north (Illinois Route 67 from Jerseyville): Take 67 into Godfrey, where it becomes Godfrey Road. Turn left on 67 (Martin Luther King Drive) and continue to East 20th Street/College Avenue in Alton. Turn left on College Avenue, go around the circle and continue on College Avenue. Turn right at the hospital entrance.
  • From the east (Interstate 55/Illinois Route 140): Exit I-55 at Hamel (exit 30). Go right (east) about 20 miles into Alton. Route 140 becomes College Avenue. Go through three four-way stops in Upper Alton, down the hill past Rock Springs Park and then turn left at the hospital entrance.
  • From the south (Interstate 255): Take 255 north until the Route 140 exit at Bethalto. Turn left (east) and go approximately 5 miles into Alton. Route 140 becomes College Avenue. Go through three four-way stops in Upper Alton, down the hill past Rock Springs Park and then turn left at the hospital entrance.
  • From the St. Louis area: Take Interstate 270 to Highway 367 North. Stay on 367/67 across both the Missouri River and the Mississippi River. Turn right at the end of the Clark Bridge (across the Mississippi River). At the first stop light turn left. Travel to Broadway. Turn right onto Broadway, then left onto Washington Avenue. Travel on Washington Avenue to Brown Street. Turn left onto Brown Street, and look for the hospital entrance on the right. Hospital signs direct visitors to the appropriate parking areas.

Parking

Drive to the back of the hospital, past valet, past the orange awning and continue until you see the blue stork signs that say “expectant mother parking” outside the Smith Wing Entrance. You will get buzzed into enter the Smith Wing. Please press the intercom button and a member of the OB staff will screen you and let you enter the unit.

All other visitors should use either the Duncan Wing or Emergency Department entrance and proceed to OB from there.
