The Sleep Diagnostic Center
If you have trouble falling asleep, staying awake or sleeping through the night, you are not alone. Your body needs adequate sleep in order to function, remain alert and stay healthy. The state-of-the art Sleep Diagnostic Center at Alton Memorial Hospital is here to help you get a good night’s sleep again.
To ensure your comfort, each private room has a select comfort sleep number bed and flat screen television. If needed, a private room is available for a caregiver.
If you are experiencing breathing problems, such as sleep apnea our Center offers CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, as a treatment. CPAP uses mild air pressure to keep the airways open using a CPAP machine. Our polysomnographer technicians are on hand to study your sleep patterns under the guidance of Dr. Ajitesh Rai, a neurologist certified in sleep medicine and Dr. Dani Tazbaz, a pulmonologist certified in sleep medicine.
Hours and location:
The Sleep Diagnostic Center is located on the first floor of the Smith Wing Annex. To find the Center, park in the rear of the hospital and enter through the Smith entrance. Once entering the hospital, the Center is straight ahead.
The Center is open for testing six days a week, but can accommodate patient schedules including night shift workers.
