Barnes-Jewish Hospital and its physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine have been named one of America’s “Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish ranked No. 11 in the nation, moving up six spots from its previous position on the publication’s elite honor roll of the country’s top 20 hospitals. The report also ranked Barnes-Jewish as No. 1 in Missouri and No. 1 in the metro St. Louis area.

Diane Mize Celebrates 50 Years at AMH

"The Godfather"; Watergate; tragedy at the Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. 1972 seems like such a long time ago. But it was when Diane Mize began working at Alton Memorial Hospital -- and she's still here! Diane celebrated her 50th anniversary at AMH on June 12 and was honored by leadership, her co-workers and retired co-workers.

Auxiliary’s Annual Fund Raiser Targets Wheelchairs

The White Cross Auxiliary (WCA) of Alton Memorial Hospital is again having a mail-in fund raiser in 2022. The deadline to donate has been extended to Aug. 31. For more information or to make a donation, please contact Irene McLaughlin at 618-530-8589 or Meg Dorris at 618-530-7006. The goal this year is to purchase more wheelchairs both for the hospital and also the medical office buildings on campus.

Scholarship Winners Have Moms to Thank

The two winners of Alton Memorial Hospital’s first two Health Equity Scholarships had to consider those honors a very special Mother’s Day gift this year. Taryn Wallace, a senior at Alton High School, and Samara Helton, a senior at Edwardsville High School, were both raised by single mothers who have been steady influences in their lives -- and they were awarded the scholarships four days before Mother’s Day.
