The Alton Memorial Hospital Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, managed by Healogics, provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds. Honored with a Center of Distinction Award for its outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, the Wound Care Center offers state-of-the-art treatments under the care of our physicians, nurses and technicians.
Since 2005, the Wound Care Center has been providing highly specialized care for patients who suffer from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds, which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time and through conventional treatments. Non-healing wounds, often associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins, and immobility, can lead to lower quality of life and may lead to amputations. When wounds persist, a specialized approach is required for healing.
When to seek help for your wound
Typically, a wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 30 days is considered a problem or chronic wound. That’s where our multi-specialty team of physicians and nurses can help. Our Wound Care Center patients undergo a thorough diagnostic examination to identify their wound and its underlying causes. The wound-healing program — tailored to the patient's needs — is based on the most effective treatment options.
To get to the Wound Care Center, park near the hospital's Olin Wing entrance. Come in that entrance (orange awning) and come halfway down that hall. You can enter the Wound Care Center on the right (G-250), directly across from the Family Care Pharmacy.
