Alton Memorial Hospital's rehabilitation department provides inpatient care on the acute units and Transitional Care Unit and outpatient expertise in:

Physical Therapy services include:  
  • Balance training
  • Dizziness treatment (Vestibular Therapy)
  • Gait training
  • Head injury
  • Musculoskeletal treatment
  • Neuromuscular treatment
  • Prosthetic training
  • Sports performance/injuries
  • Strength training
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Torticollis therapy
  • Pediatric therapy
The Occupational Therapy department provides:  
  • Adaptive equipment fitting and training
  • Cognitive retraining
  • Developmental pediatric therapy
  • Hand therapy
  • Life function skills
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy provides treatment of speech, language, cognition, voice and swallowing disorders for all ages. Specialized treatment also is provided for:
  • CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder)
  • TEP (tracheoesophageal prosthesis)
  • Vital Stim therapy
