If you are a physician looking for employment, we invite you to go to our physician recruitment section.

If you need lab services, go to the Laboratory at Alton Memorial, CAP certified.

The physician services department acts as a liaison between physicians and the hospital. The main goal is to enhance communication between the hospital and its medical staff in order to provide continuous customer satisfaction.

The department is also a special resource designed to help the private practitioner. Based on the philosophy that health care organizations and physicians share mutual interests and that working together is vital to success, the department offers an array of services designed to help physicians establish and enhance their medical practice.

Alton Memorial Hospital provides the software to physicians at no cost. Analysis of the physician's current system, installation, technical consultation and on-site training are also provided.

Continuing Medical Education
The physician services department facilitates the continuing medical education program at Alton Memorial. Grand rounds programs are available at noon on the third Wednesday of each month. Lunch is provided.

Physician Referral Network Program
Communication is the key to a successful referral relationship. The physician referral network program develops and expands communication channels between secondary market referring physicians and the hospital's medical staff.

It is essential for the primary care physician to be informed of patient care, particularly when a patient is referred to a hospital outside of his or her primary market. The PRN program was created to assist the primary care physician in patient communication.

The program facilitator tracks patients who meet certain criteria. By keeping the primary care physician fully informed, the continuum of quality care is maximized.
